The Hyundai Tucson, fourth-generation Hyundai’s best-selling sport utility vehicle (SUV) is coming to Singapore this year. Fun fact is that Tucson is pronounced as Too-son just like the city in Arizona.
The all-new Tucson has been designed in a new language called the ‘sensuous sportiness’. The most distinctive part of the new Tucson are the hidden headlights which are embedded to the 3D parametric-style jewel grille.
On the side profile, the Tucson is extremely muscular. It is 20mm longer and 15mm wider than the previous generation. There is also an option of 17-, 18- or 19-inch wheels for you to choose from.
The ‘hidden’ theme does not stop at the front of the car. In addition, at the rear windshield, the wiper blades are tuck away at the top.
The Tucson comes with a full suite of Hyundai SmartSense safety feature including highway driving assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-keeping assist. It also will feature a surround-view monitor, active reverse parking assist and remote parking.
At the inside of the Tucson, the drivers get a view of the 10.25-inch open type cluster display. Below the distinguish silver lining sits Hyundai’s latest 8.8-inch widescreen infotainment system and full-touch centre fascia.
Engine options of the new Tucson are available with 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engines that produce either 150hp or 180hp with a six-speed manual and the choice of two- or four-wheel drive, as well as the hybrid’s combined output with the electric motor of 230hp. Further down the line, the Tucson will also have a plug-in hybrid variant with 265hp, as well as a tasty N-Line performance version for enthusiasts.
